DreamWorks Expects TV Revenue To Hit $200M By 2015
The leading special effects studio DreamWorks SKG has said on Tuesday that its new deal with Netflix providing original TV shows will help double its TV revenue to $200M. This $100M extra revenue represents a 13 percent jump over its $750M total revenue.
DreamWorks to get a financial fillip with the new deal.
This new deal will help iron out bumps in the quarterly results of the firm that is largely dependent on its two or three big movie releases each year. DreamWorks still maintains its movie business is its main earner but agreed the new deal is a great transformation for the firm. Shares of the firm rose 2 percent on Tuesday after this call.
Some analysts are skeptical of DreamWorks ability to handle such high volume business. But the firm maintains that they are producing three world-wide shows and can scale up to the new level of work.
