Ever since his ouster from Groupon, the online deals company in February, Andrew Mason, its ex-CEO has been working on the recently released album ‘Hardly Workin’. Mason has used his seven-song album to provide listeners with insights into business knowledge.
Mason’s Album and its Songs
Mason’s album comprises of seven songs like ‘The Way to Work’, ‘My Door is Always Open’ and ‘Stretch’ that all hint at his reason for being fired. In fact, the song ‘Stretch’ opens with the line ‘we all know that you gotta have goals every quarter’ which points strongly to the goal-oriented nature of most businesses today. Indeed, it was because Mason could not keep pace with the goals outlined that he was shown the pink slip at Groupon.
But for the former CEO, it helped that he was also an ex-punk band keyboardist. He calls is debut album that is available for $9.99 at iTunes a ‘motivational business music’ and says that business persons at all levels, right from executives to front-line employees will definitely find some ‘valuable takeaways’ from it.
